RENEWING OF THE MIND

In this bible study Renewing of the Mind, we will review the book of Romans, the book of Ephesians, and the book of John.

"Do not be conformed to this world-this age, fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs. But be transformed (changed) by the (entire) renewal of your mind-by its new ideals and it's new attitude-so that you may prove (for yourselves) what is good and acceptable and perfect (in His sight for you). "
the book of Romans 12:2 AMP

This verse says that we should be in control of our thoughts and know the difference between good and evil thoughts by testing the spirit.
Note: If your thoughts are not entreating, edifying, or comforting, they are not of God.

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity - of coward or craven and cringing and fawning fear-but (He has given us a spirit) of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control."

GOD WANTS US TO SERVE HIM WITHOUT FEAR….

There is at least one area where professional and highly educated people are in total agreement with God: They value their minds very highly. God also places tremendous value upon man's mind: God made it and wants us to develop our minds to make our life joyful and successful on this earth.

When God's Truth Comes

When God's Truth comes into us it makes us free from the bondages of this world and renews our minds to receive the revelation of God.
Jesus tells us in:
the book of John 8:32 AMP "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

The reason that many people reject and do not believe in Jesus is because their intellect has been un-renewed and underdeveloped in this area. They look at the faults of other people who claim to be Christians. Because of darkness, lack of understanding, just plain ignorance about God's love or the things of God… they close God out of their lives and reject His World.

What we really need is for someone to illuminate our intellect and develop our intelligence to enable us to successfully accept our responsibilities. To know how to adapt to the environment, this releases us from the pressures of living. This can only be done by the ONE who created us in His image and likeness, our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST.

None of us are born intellectual or knowing everything. We must develop our intellect. If I want to know something about automobiles, I seek out someone who knows about them. If I want to know something about building a house, I have to find someone who has built one.

Just because you don't know everything about everything, does not mean that you are stupid or not intelligent. It just means that your mind has not been opened, introduced, renewed or illuminated in that area. Our minds need to be developed in the truths of God's Word. You and I know that God's word is real. It carries healing, saving, baptizing, and transforming power today. You and I know that all we have to do is open our heart to Jesus and ask Him to be the Lord of our life and He will transform our heart, cleanse us with His blood, and illuminate our intellect by the Spirit.

"Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses, declares openly and speaks out freely his faith, and confirms his salvation."
Romans 10:9-10 AMP

The world's program today is centered on capturing the mind of God's people scientifically and putting negative thoughts, fears, strife, doubt, and ideas into their minds which are contrary to the Word of God.

"And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind- having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude. And pit on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God's image, (godlike) in true righteousness and holiness."
Ephesians 4:23-24 AMP

Many Christians are struggling today because they do not know when they are being deceived by partaking of and listening to the lies of the devil. Saying: 'If you sleep with a dog, you will have flea bites.' People who listen to the lies of the world (the devil) will be oppressed, worried, and tormented by the things of this world.

Many Christians today are having difficulties in their businesses, home life, with their children, marriages and the children are having difficulties in school, etc. This is because they have taken their eyes off Jesus and are being deceived by the lies of the world. As a result, both the reborn Christians and the people who do not know Christ as their Lord are lonely, oppressed, fearful, and are searching for reality and truthful answers.

Christians have been placed in this sinful world to provide an answer for every problem to every needy person.

"But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy (and acknowledge Him) as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to any one who asks you to account for the hope that is in you but do it courteously and respectfully."
I Peter 3:15 AMP

"Let your speech at all times be gracious (pleasant and winsome), seasoned (as it were) with salt, (so that you may never be at a loss) to know how you ought to answer anyone (who puts a question to you.)"
I Corinthians 4:6 AMP

When we know and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we know the answer and the truth and the Life.

"I am the Way and the Truth and the Life"
I John 14:6 AMP

"Nor will people say, Lord! Here (it is)! Or, See (it is) there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you (in your hearts) and among you (surrounding you)."
Luke 17:21 AMP
